NORFOLK -- McKayla Anderson of Fremont recently turned in the third-best qualifying score in the NWAGA Math Play Championship at Norfolk Country Club.
Anderson qualified for the 16-person match play tournament with a score of 77 (40-37). She was defeated in the first round of the tournament 6 and 5 by Anna Christenson of Lincoln.
Steph Kolbas of Lincoln earned medalist honors among qualifiers with an even-par 72. She won her first round match 6 and 4 over Sara Thurley of Columbus.
The match play championship began with a field of 30 participants. The single-elimination tournament concludes on Wednesday.
